Day 1 Nairobi:
Clients are met on arrival by an Origins driver and transferred to the Karen Blixen cottages. The cottages and Coffee Gardens are located in the suburb of Karen, originally settled by author Isac Dineson, better known, as Karen Blixen made famous by the film Out of Africa, part of which was filmed here in her homestead, now the Karen Blixen Museum. Indoor and outdoor and garden restaurants, a lively bar and live music most evening make this a favourite haunt of local residents.
1 overnight Karen Blixen Cottages Days 2, 3 Samburu:
We catch a scheduled flight departing at 0915hrs from Wilson Airport to Samburu National Reserve, arriving at 1030hrs. Guests are met and transferred to camp with a game drive en-route. Samburu presents a visual feast as proud Samburu herdsman coexist with the wildlife; many rare & endemic species thrive here including Grevy’s Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Besia Oryx, Gerenuk, Yellow Baboon, Guenther’s DikDik and Reticulated Giraffe; Leopard and Elephant are plentiful.
2 overnights Samburu Intrepids Camp Days
4, 5 Lake Nakuru:
After our last morning in Samburu
we leave at mid-day to fly to Lake
Naivasha, via Nairobi. From Naivasha
we are met and transferred by road
to Lake Nakuru Park, arriving around
5pm. Our base inside this lakeside
reserve is Lion Hill Lodge. This is
the ideal base to explore Lake Nakuru
National Park and Rhino Sanctuary
(black & white Rhino); also home
to Rothschild's Giraffe (rarely seen
elsewhere), Zebra, Buffalo, Eland,
Waterbuck as well as Lion and Leopard.

Days
6, 7, 8 Maasai Mara:
After an early lunch we leave Nakuru
to drive across the Rift Valley floor
back to Lake Naivasha to connect with
our scheduled flight to the Maasai
Mara departing at 1510 and arriving
at 1550. On arrival guests are met
and taken to camp – the transfer
is a game drive in itself… Undoubtedly
this is the greatest wildlife experience
of all. Year round the Maasai Mara
Reserve is host to an enormous concentration
of animals, boosted by the famous
wildebeest and zebra migration during
July/August/October. All the Big Cats,
Elephant, Black Rhino and thousands
of plains game spread out before you
– it’s better than the
Discovery Channel because you are
part of the spectacle.
3 overnights Mara Intrepids

Day
9 Nairobi & Depart
After breakfast we catch the scheduled
flight departing at 1100hrs back to
Nairobi, arriving at 1215hrs. Optional
shopping/sightseeing tour: Snake Park,
Butterfly Museum, Nairobi National
Park, Giraffe Feeding Centre, Craft
